Mauboussin, an iconic house

A jewelry workshop founded in 1827, the famous house took its definitive name of Mauboussin in 1922. Its exhibitions of precious stones had international resonance. In 1928, one of them featured Josephine Bonaparte's 24-carat emerald. Mauboussin was already regularly mentioned in the major fashion magazines (Vanity Fair, Vogue, etc.) and took part in the Decorative Arts exhibition held at the Grand Palais from 1928 to 1933. When it moved to the Place Vendôme in 1946, Mauboussin joined some of the biggest names in French high jewelry, including Cartier and Chaumet.

Since it was founded in the 19th century, Mauboussin has been at the forefront of different trends, from Art Deco and Cubist styles to Orientalist inspirations.
